Bomba Estereo are one of the hot new acts in Bogota taking Colombian roots music into the 21st century. Like label mate Pernett, they plug into Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as cumbia, champeta and bullerengue and deliver electro-folklore to the iPod generation. In their shows, they combine sampling with live percussion and vocals courtesy of the charismatic and energetic Liliana Saumet, and backed by experimental projections by up and coming Colombian video artists.
